Bhubaneswar KV-3 bombing: No breakthrough even after 24 hours

A day after the crude bomb explosion outside Kendriya Vidyalaya-3 (KV-3) near Gadakana area in Bhubaneswar, the police officials are yet to identify or trace the miscreants involved. The blast, which occurred around 8 AM on Friday in front of Gate No. 3 of the school, triggered panic among students, parents and residents. The unidentified attackers allegedly hurled the bomb and escaped immediately after the explosion.

Mancheswar Police, along with a scientific forensic team, collected bomb fragments from the spot for laboratory examination. CCTV footage from surrounding areas has been scanned, but no breakthrough has been achieved so far. Despite intensive investigation, the police have not been able to establish the motive or determine who was targeted.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also joined the probe, assessing whether the incident has links to any larger network or criminal activity. Officials are exploring multiple angles, whether the attack was aimed at school authorities, security personnel, or simply intended to create chaos and fear.

The blast took place just minutes before the usual school rush hour, averting what could have been a major tragedy. 

The incident has triggered serious questions: Who would target a school? What was the motive? Why attack a campus filled with children?

Security has been tightened, yet parents remain anxious about their children’s safety. Authorities insist the probe is underway and have assured strict action once the perpetrators are identified.
