The fourth instalment of financial assistance under Odisha’s ambitious Subhadra Yojana will be released tomorrow, informed Deputy CM Pravati Parida on Saturday. The announcement has brought relief and support to lakhs of women beneficiaries across the state.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, more than 1 crore 2 lakh women will receive the fourth instalment under the scheme. The government will transfer over Rs 5,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
2.13L New Beneficiaries
Parida further stated that around 2.13 lakh new beneficiaries have been added to the scheme and will receive financial assistance in this phase. She also clarified that the beneficiary list under the Subhadra scheme is dynamic and will continue to be updated regularly.
As per the eligibility criteria, women who attain the age of 21 years will be newly included in the scheme, while those who cross the age of 60 years will be shifted to the pension beneficiary list under other social welfare programmes.

The Subhadra Yojana, launched by the Government of Odisha, aims to strengthen the financial independence of women by providing them with direct financial support. The upcoming installment is expected to benefit a large number of households and further empower women across the state.
Empowering Women Across State
Speaking to media persons, the Deputy CM said, “Tomorrow, the Subhadra scheme disbursement will take place in Talabania, Puri. We received applications from approximately 1 crore 12 lakh 57 thousand 667 people. Out of them, 1 crore 2 lakh 12 thousand 665 people will be given Subhadra. In the presence of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Majhi, Subhadra will also be disbursed tomorrow. On the occasion of International Women's Day, the WCD (Women and Child Development) celebrations take place, where the best WCD awards are given, and these will also be presented. So, I think approximately more than 5000 crore rupees will go to women's accounts tomorrow.”
“Look, today, the new recipients of Subhadra are 2 lakh 13 thousand 198 people. Those who have come through grievance redressal are 36 thousand 385 people. And including others, all of them are within that total of 1 crore 2 lakh beneficiaries. And the new Subhadra beneficiaries, whom we can call 'Yuva Subhadra' (young Subhadra beneficiaries), who received their first instalment after turning 21, all of them will receive this instalment,” she stated.
“When someone turns 21 in April, they will be entered into Subhadra. Those who turn 60 will move from the Subhadra list or beneficiary list to the pension list. Therefore, every year, in the list of Subhadra beneficiaries, those who are turning 21 will be added. So, the Subhadra list will continuously change because those who turn 60 will be excluded, and those who turn 21 will be included,” she further added.
