Security guard jumps to death from hospital roof over ‘salary delay’

In a tragic incident, a security guard at the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) died by jumping from the roof of the hospital building on Sunday morning. 

According to initial reports, the guard leapt from the fifth floor of the hospital, leading to his instant death on the spot. The deceased has been identified as a resident of Palasaguda village under Nuapada district.

While the exact reason behind the extreme step remains uncertain, preliminary information suggests that the guard had allegedly not been paid his salary for the past five months. The delay in payment is believed to have caused severe distress, although officials are yet to confirm this claim.

The hospital administration has so far refrained from issuing an official statement regarding the alleged salary dispute or the circumstances surrounding the death. Meanwhile, police personnel have reached the scene, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
