The bhoomi pujan ceremony was held at Rajang under Danpur Panchayat in the presence of Kendrapara MP and BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda and Sadguru Madhusudan Sai.

The hospital has been established through the initiative of Baijayant Panda and is expected to significantly improve healthcare access in the district. All modern and advanced medical treatment facilities at the hospital will be provided completely free of cost.

Long-Standing Demand

Residents of Kendrapara had long demanded a multispeciality healthcare facility, as patients often had to travel to Cuttack or Bhubaneswar for treatment. Overcrowding at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack reportedly created additional hardship, with patients facing long waiting periods and accommodation difficulties.

Efforts by the BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda culminated in the laying of the foundation stone for the new hospital. Locals are now awaiting the completion of the project.

Free Treatment for All

Addressing the gathering, Baijayant Panda said, “When we said that the hospital will be free of cost, we meant that everything will be free - from doctor appointments to treatment and even surgeries. The hospital will not have a cash counter. Bills will be generated with zero amount mentioned on them.”

He further stated, “I urge people to visit their ashram in Vellore as well. The main super-speciality hospital there receives thousands of patients every single day. They conduct all types of surgeries and provide free medication and treatment. Patients are treated without any discrimination.”

A Step Towards Regional Development

Highlighting broader developmental initiatives in the district, Panda said, “Kendrapara is evolving towards development. We have got a railway line, industries are coming up and a university will also be set up here. While a government hospital is also planned, this hospital will serve lakhs of people of Kendrapara as well as Odisha.”

Expressing gratitude, he added, “I would like to thank CM Mohan Majhi. Although this hospital is completely free and Sadguru ji’s charitable trust is bearing all the expenses without taking any money from the government, the Odisha government provided all necessary clearances. I also thank the District Collector, the MLAs and all leaders and party members present here for making this possible.”
