OTV Foresight 2026 was held in Delhi on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone for Odisha Television Limited’s annual convention, ‘Foresight 2026 - Changing Times, Changing Minds’. Addressing the gathering, spiritual leader Madhusudan Sai spoke at length on spirituality, service, social responsibility and nation-building.

Faith As The Foundation Of Spiritual Experience

Speaking on the question of God’s existence, Sai said spirituality was rooted in experience rather than scientific experimentation.

“The question of whether God exists and in what form has intrigued mankind from time immemorial. Those who experienced God said it is beyond the grasp of the mind and beyond words,” he said, referring to the Upanishads.

He explained that scriptures define God as consciousness, truth, awareness and bliss, and said anyone who experiences these qualities is, in essence, experiencing God.

Appealing to the younger generation, he urged them to go beyond mythological narratives and understand the philosophical essence of spirituality. “Whoever experiences truth, awareness and joy, in some measure, is experiencing God,” he said.

Service As An Expression Of Spirituality

Emphasising the teachings of Satya Sai Baba, Madhusudan Sai said spirituality without service was incomplete. “He taught us that service and spirituality are two sides of a coin. If spirituality does not translate into service to the poor and needy, it becomes counterfeit,” he said.

He outlined his organisation’s work in education, health and nutrition, stating that free morning meals are provided to 1 crore children every day across 25 states, describing it as the largest nutrition programme undertaken by any NGO. He added that the organisation runs 15 free hospitals with nearly 2,000 beds across seven states, including facilities for paediatric heart surgeries, neurology and kidney care, along with India’s only free private medical college and several educational institutions up to university level.

Concerns Over Mental Health And Social Stability

Touching upon rising mental health issues, self-harm and failing relationships, Sai said character is the ability to consistently choose right over wrong.

“Children today lack examples. They are unhappy, which is why mental health issues and suicide rates are rising. Marriages are failing because people are not content,” he said, adding that forcing children into unwanted careers often leads to frustration and social breakdown.

Healthcare Project In Odisha

Expressing gratitude to Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, Madhusudan Sai announced plans for a free hospital in Kendrapara.

“Thanks to the efforts of Jay Panda, we are building a hospital in Kendrapara free of charge. Construction will begin soon. Healthcare is essential for developing Odisha,” he said, adding that the hospital would be built in the shape of a ‘Swastik’.
