During the operation, police have recovered more than 1,800 litres of hashish oil — a highly concentrated narcotic substance derived from ganja — with an estimated market value of around Rs 220 crore. In addition, over 1,100 kg of ganja worth nearly Rs 5 crore was also seized by the raid team.

Authorities confirmed that equipment used for producing hashish oil was found at the site, indicating an organised processing setup hidden deep inside the forest under Padua police limits.

Nandapur Police seized 1,143 kg of ganja being smuggled in two pickup vans and arrested four accused. Two of the arrested individuals are from Semiliguda in Koraput district, while the other two are from Haryana.

Police officials stated that the masterminds behind the illegal operation managed to flee from the site, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

Investigators believe illegal traffickers are increasingly converting ganja into hashish oil to transport smaller quantities with significantly higher market value.

Koraput Police have reiterated their commitment to intensifying the anti-narcotics drives to dismantle inter-state drug networks and curb illegal production and smuggling activities across the region.

“Police team secured this significant success today with the seizure of approximately 1,800 litres of hashish oil and more than 10 quintals of Ganja (cannabis). Koraput SP is personally present at the site, and raids are still going on. We expect further progress and will provide more details as they emerge,” South Western Range DIG, Kanwar Vishal Singh, said to OTV when contacted.
