Past enmity turns fatal, Nayagarh town tense after youth beaten to death

A shocking incident of violence has rocked Brundabanpur village under Nayagarh Town police limits after a youth was allegedly beaten to death late on Saturday night. The deceased, identified as Pintu Majhi, was found lying in a pool of blood, sending shockwaves through the area. 

According to preliminary reports, Pintu was attacked with wooden sticks by a group of assailants, leading to his death on the spot.

Family members of the victim have alleged that the murder was the fallout of past enmity, claiming that Pintu had been receiving threats for some time. They further stated that a group of five individuals, reportedly in an inebriated condition, confronted him on Saturday night before launching the brutal assault.

Following a complaint lodged by the family, Nayagarh Town Police reached the spot, seized the body, and launched a detailed investigation into the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, while some of the accused are said to be absconding, police have detained two suspects for interrogation and are conducting raids to track down the remaining individuals involved.

The incident has created tension in the village, with locals demanding swift justice and strict action against those responsible. Police officials have assured that all angles, including personal rivalry and group conflict, are being thoroughly examined, and no one involved will be spared as the investigation progresses.

"Our son was beaten to death by a few people. We have lodged a complaint in this regard before the police. We want justice over the matter," said Kailash Majhi, a relative of the deceased.
