In an unfortunate incident, more than ten people were injured after one bus rammed into another at Khantapada Chhak on National Highway 16 in Balasore district. The accident occurred on Sunday when a passenger bus heading towards Balasore suffered a rear tyre burst, after which another bus travelling from Bhubaneswar to Ranchi crashed into it from behind.
According to reports, the tyre burst led to heavy smoke spreading across the road, reducing visibility for vehicles approaching from the rear. Amid the confusion, the Ranchi-bound bus on the same highway rammed into the back of the damaged passenger bus, triggering panic among people in the area.
Driver, Helper Among the Critically Injured
In the collision, the driver and helper of the rear bus, along with two passengers, sustained critical injuries. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. In total, more than ten passengers from both buses were reported injured in the incident.
