Call it destiny or some unique bond by which both are now connected in an everlasting relationship that stemmed from the freak mishap at Bhubaneswar Railway Station last month. Following the incident, Nivedita who is a lecturer by profession, had invited the RPF constable to attend her wedding.

Even Subrat did not disappoint Nivedita and turned up on her wedding on March 11 to bless her.

“It was a nice feeling after my sister’s (Nivedita) family felicitated me during the marriage,” said Subrat.

On February 15, Nivedita had reportedly fallen between the gap of the platform and a moving train while trying to board Puri-Sambalpur Intercity Express. The mishap occurred when Nivedita, who is posted at Bhubaneswar, was on her way to her village in Dhenkanal.

Nivedita’s family members thanked the RPF constable for saving the life of their daughter.

“We were happy to see the RPF constable attending our daughter’s wedding ceremony. He is now a part of our family and we will remain grateful to him always,” said Lalit Kumar Sahu, Nivedita’s Uncle.
