Keeping in mind the difficulties faced by many citizens, Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) in Odisha have been instructed to accept cash payments as well.

As per the new arrangement, specific officials will be assigned the responsibility of collecting cash payments at Regional Transport Offices (RTO). This initiative is expected to provide relief to people who are unable to complete online payments due to non-updated mobile numbers and, as a result, do not receive OTPs required for digital transactions.

The offline payment facility will also be particularly beneficial for residents of areas with poor or unreliable internet connectivity, ensuring that they are not inconvenienced while paying traffic fines.

As per official sources, this step has been taken to make the e-challan system more inclusive and citizen-friendly, allowing people from all sections of society to comply with traffic regulations without facing technical hurdles.
