The parade will also showcase Odisha’s traditional Ghoda Nacha (one of the popular folk dances performed by artistes using the replicas of horses) alongside the Prajnapan Medha, highlighting the State’s cultural vibrancy on a national stage.

Odisha Chief Secretary had previously instructed that all preparations for the tableau must be completed by January 19. However, the work is likely to be completed today.

Officials say the display will reflect Odisha’s art forms, craftsmanship, and cultural pride, offering visitors a glimpse into the State’s traditions during the Republic Day celebrations.

Worth mentioning, earlier in a matter of pride in 2024, Odisha’s tableau that participated in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi had been adjudged the best among the tableaux of states/UTs. Odisha's tableau had featured a model of Raghurajpur heritage crafts village with messages on women's empowerment.

The tableau had showcased the wonderful craftsmanship and artistry through Raghurajpur pattachitra and handicrafts. Moreover, it had highlighted women's empowerment in rural areas through cottage industries.

The tableau was then prepared under the supervision of notable sculptor, artist, and designer Gajendra Sahoo.

In his reaction, artist Sahoo had said, “The tableau participated after three years. During model preparation, it appeared that it was different from the others. The students, who were performing Sambalpuri dance, were filled with enthusiasm.”
