Odisha shocker! Man stabs son to death over minor domestic dispute

A young man was allegedly stabbed to death by his own father on Sunday at Kampulei village under the jurisdiction of Kankadahad Police Station in the Kamakhyanagar subdivision.

According to preliminary reports, an argument broke out between the father and son on Saturday for reasons that are yet to be ascertained. During the altercation, the accused, identified as Bibhuti Sahu, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. 

He is said to have attacked his son, Khirod Sahu, by hurling bricks and stones at him, causing injuries.

Complaint Allegedly Ignored

Following the assault, Khirod reportedly approached Kankadahad Police Station and lodged a complaint against his father. However, it is alleged that the complaint was not treated with due urgency, and no immediate preventive action was initiated by the police. This alleged inaction has now raised serious concerns regarding police response and accountability.

Fatal Attack

Tragically, the situation escalated the next day. On Sunday, Bibhuti Sahu allegedly attacked his son again, this time stabbing him with a sharp weapon while intoxicated, leading to Khirod’s death on the spot.

The brutal incident has sent shockwaves across Kampulei village, leaving residents in a state of fear and disbelief. Police from Kamakhyanagar have launched an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events, the motive behind the crime, and whether lapses occurred in handling the earlier complaint. 

Further legal action is expected as the probe continues.
