Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania reviewed the current situation in Cuttack on Sunday.
After assessing the situation with senior officials, DGP Khurania appealed to the public to maintain law and order and urged everyone not to believe in information circulating on social media. The DGP appealed that people should rely only on verified information available on the official police website.
"Cuttack is a city of brotherhood. The residents of Cuttack always celebrate all the festivals with cooperation. I request and appeal all the residents of Cuttack to maintain law and order. Commissionerate Police and Odisha Police are fully ready to maintain law and order. The unsocial elements who have either taken law in their own hands or thinking to do so, I want to tell them that all the powers given to the police as per the provision in the law will be exercised to maintain law and order. We will not allow any law and order situation to occur. I request the public not to believe in the rumours circulating in the social media. People should rely only on verified information available on the official police website," said DGP Khurania.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has directed the DGP to camp in Cuttack and keep a close watch on maintaining law and order. The directive aims to ensure strict supervision and peace in the region.
