In a high-voltage by-election campaign in Nuapada Assembly constituency segment, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made a series of major announcements on Thursday, declaring that the district's development is his personal responsibility.

Addressing a massive public rally, the CM stated, “I give my words, and I keep them.” CM Majhi assured that a new chapter in Nuapada’s history is about to begin, with visible development under a ‘double-engine’ government.
Criticising the previous BJD-led government, the CM said that earlier chief ministers failed to keep promises made during elections. The CM also highlighted his BJP-led government's commitment and earlier announcement of development projects worth Rs 1,100 crore for Nuapada.
Aiming at the opposition, the CM said, “BJD failed to find a suitable local candidate and had to import one from another district,” claiming Nuapada residents will never accept outsiders.
Mohan Majhi condemned personal attacks made against BJP candidate Jay Dholakia, calling them unacceptable. Expressing his disappointment over the lack of condemnation from the Opposition BJD leadership, he said Nuapada voters will respond appropriately at the ballot box.
The CM confidently predicted a one-sided BJP victory in the upcoming bypoll.
“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, the ‘double-engine’ government has set a target to take ‘development’ to a new height and achieve Samruddha Odisha by 2036 and Viksit Bharat by 2047. The BJP-led government has introduced several welfare schemes to include the four categories of people – Annadata farmers, poor, women, and youths – to the mainstream of society,” CM Majhi expressed.
“Within the last 16 months, the State government has expedited the schemes to reach out to different districts of the State. I have shouldered the responsibilities for districts including Nuapada and certainly will fulfil them,” the CM asserted.
