With nomination filing set for October 13, the announcement of the candidate is expected very soon.
Speaking after the key meeting, Basant Panda stated that the party is preparing with a clear objective: to win. He emphasised that the priority is not just who the candidate is, but how to ensure victory.
Senior BJP leaders, including former presidents, ministers, and MLAs, have been assigned specific tasks to mobilise support and strengthen grassroots outreach.
Candidate selection will be done through consensus, and the chosen nominee will receive full backing from the party machinery. Final approval of the name will be done by the BJP's Parliamentary Board.
The Nuapada by-election is seen as a key political battle, and the BJP appears to be leaving no stone unturned in its preparations to make a strong impact.
“We all discussed how Bharatiya Janata Party will come out victorious. I firmly believe that BJP will contest the by-election and certainly win with a huge margin due to its well-planned strategies. We have the admiration and blessings of people,” Basant Panda stated.
“The State and Central governments have introduced several welfare schemes such as input subsidy and Subhadra Yojana, etc, which have reached out to the grassroots level. Those achievements were also discussed,” the BJP leader expressed.
“Candidate will be decided by the Parliamentary Board in New Delhi. Party higher-ups will take a final call in this regard. All members of the party, including Nuapada workers, will abide by the decision,” the senior leader added.
