In a significant development, Odisha government announced as many 16 new initiatives with substantial financial allocations across key sectors in the State Budget 2026-27 presented by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi in the State Assembly on Friday.

A major allocation of Rs 5,575 crore has been earmarked for the VB-G RAM G Yojana. The Samruddha Anganwadi Yojana has received Rs 635 crore, while Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the development of Model Mandis.

The Chief Minister also announced the launch of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana. An amount of Rs 100 crore has been set aside for the Mukhyamantri Smart City Mission, and Rs 240 crore has been allocated for the World Green Storage Plan. Additionally, Rs 10 crore has been provided for the Rare Earth Corridor project.

To strengthen connectivity in remote areas, Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated. The government also plans to establish the Jagannath Interpretation Centre along with a World Tourism Centre in Puri.

Under the technology and innovation push, Rs 23 crore has been earmarked for the State AI Mission. The Tourism Land Bank Scheme has been allocated Rs 150 crore, while Rs 220 crore has been set aside for Dalkhai.

Further, steps have been taken to constitute the Chief Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. The Fit Odisha Mission has also received a budgetary allocation of Rs 10 crore.
