The political atmosphere in Odisha's Nuapada has intensified as all major parties ramp up their campaigns ahead of the November 11 polls. Frequent campaigning and the active participation of heavyweight leaders have made the contest increasingly vibrant.
Jay Dholakia from the BJP, Ghasiram Majhi from the Congress, and Snehangini Chhuria from the BJD have entered the electoral fray. This time, both the Congress and the BJD are posing a tough challenge to the BJP.
As per reports, all the contesting leaders are conducting door-to-door visits to interact with residents, assure them of their commitments, and seek their votes. Alongside the three major political parties, the BJD, BJP, and Congress, independent candidates are also campaigning actively in the region.
Party Programmes and Observances
As per reports, the BJP marked National Unity Day and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by honouring his contribution to India’s unification and organising a ‘Run for Unity’ programme. Senior BJP leaders such as party chief Manmohan Samal, Deputy CM K. V. Singhdeo, Mukesh Mahaling, and Nityananda Gond participated in the event.
Meanwhile, the Congress also observed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary and the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by holding a Shradhanjali Sabha. PCC President Bhakta Das, In-charge OPCC Ajay Kumar Lallu, and other senior Congress leaders attended the observance, reportedly.
Preparations for BJD Chief’s Visit
According to reports, the BJD has intensified its campaign in the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border areas of Nuapada district. Party leaders are preparing for former CM and BJD President Naveen Patnaik’s upcoming visit on November 3. The programme will be held in Komna block, and as this marks Patnaik’s visit to Nuapada after a long time, preparations are being carried out extensively. Local party workers and leaders have expressed satisfaction over his scheduled visit to the region, as sources said.
