Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik is set to visit Odisha's Nuapada to campaign for party candidate Snehangini Chhuria. The former Chief Minister will visit Komna on November 3, marking his return to the region after a long gap. Ahead of his visit, he released a video message for residents of Nuapada, announcing his plans and appealing for their support.

In his message, Naveen Patnaik said, “Jay Jagannath, my dear brothers and sisters of Komna. I will visit Komna on November 3. I will meet you all and talk to you.” As per reports, he will visit Nuapada again on November 7 to continue campaigning.

Political Significance of the Visit

As per reports, the visit is expected to be a key moment for the BJD, which now stands as the opposition party in Odisha. Political observers view this as a reality check for the party’s influence in western Odisha. The focus will be on the promises Patnaik makes and how voters respond to his return to the district.

Campaigns Intensify Across Parties

Meanwhile, BJD leaders have intensified their ground campaign in anticipation of Patnaik’s visit, reportedly. The party has been making efforts to consolidate support for Snehangini Chhuria. 

Similarly, BJP leaders from neighbouring Chhattisgarh are set to campaign for their candidate, Jay Dholakia, while Congress has also stepped up its activities with the participation of senior leaders from Odisha and adjoining states.
