In a strategic political move ahead of the Nuapada by-election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday entrusted eight ministers with the responsibility of managing the campaign and coordination across different zones of the district.

This decision reflects the party’s intention to intensify its outreach and ensure effective election management at the grassroots level.
As per the assignments, Rabi Narayan Naik will oversee operations in Banjari, while Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia has been given the charge of Sunadei. Gokulananda Mallik will handle Pataleswar, and Krushna Chandra Patra will lead the campaign efforts in Jayajangha.
Similarly, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena has been assigned to Konabhira, and Nityananda Gond will manage activities in Jogeswar.
For the Nuapada NAC area, Mukesh Mahaling will take charge, whereas Krushna Chandra Mahapatra has been appointed for the Khariar Road civic limits.
With these assignments, the saffron party appears to be setting the stage for a vigorous and coordinated electioneering aimed at consolidating voter support in the politically crucial Nuapada Assembly constituency segment.
Worth mentioning, earlier on October 16, the BJP released its official list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming by-election, showcasing a power-packed line-up of the party's heavyweights from both Odisha and neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
Leading the campaign will be Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, both of whom will canvass for BJP-fielded candidate Jay Dholakia. The list also includes Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with BJP State President Manmohan Samal, senior leader Jual Oram, strategist Sunil Bansal, and National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda.
This aggressive deployment of star campaigners underlines the significance of the Nuapada bypoll in the BJP’s political roadmap for Odisha.
