BJP releases star campaigner list for Nuapada bypoll

BJP released its official list of 40 star campaigners on Thursday for the upcoming Nuapada by-election, showcasing a power-packed lineup of party heavyweights from both Odisha and neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

Leading the campaign will be Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, both of whom will canvass for BJP-fielded candidate Jay Dholakia. The list also includes Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with BJP State President Manmohan Samal, senior leader Jual Oram, strategist Sunil Bansal, and National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda.

The list features over eight leaders from Chhattisgarh, reflecting the party’s strategy to leverage regional influence. Among them are CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Arun Sao, signalling a strong interstate political push to woo the voters in border constituencies like Nuapada.

This aggressive deployment of campaigners underlines the significance of the Nuapada bypoll in the BJP’s roadmap for Odisha.

Notably, the 40 star campaigners are Mohan Charan Majhi, Manmohan Samal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jual Oram, Vishnu Deo Sai, Sunil Bansal, Baijayant Jay Panda, Vijaypal Singh Tomar, Lata Usendi, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Pravati Parida, Arun Sao, Suresh Pujari, Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Sambit Patra, Jayanarayan Mishra, Basanta Panda, Samir Mohanty, Brijmohan Agrawal, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Rabi Narayan Naik, Nityananda Gond, Mukesh Mahaling, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Pradeep Purohit, Sujeet Kumar, Rupkumari Choudhary, Malvika Devi, Pradipta Kumar Naik, Sidhant Mohapatra, Anubhav Mohanty, Akash Dasnayak, Manas Kumar Mohanty, Ranjan Kumar Patel, Anuj Sharma, Rohit Sahu, Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, Laxman Bag, and Sanat Kumar Gartia.

Earlier in the day, in a high-voltage by-election campaign in Nuapada Assembly constituency segment, Odisha CM Mohan Majhi made a series of major announcements, declaring that the district's development is his personal responsibility.
