Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and several senior BJP leaders were also present, reflecting the party's full-throttle push in the by-election battle.

Though widely expected to file his nomination today, Jay Dholakia announced that he will formally submit his nomination papers on October 18, citing certain reasons for the delay.

Meanwhile, the BJP has released its star campaigners list for the Nuapada bypoll, featuring 40 top leaders. Along with Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai will also campaign in support of the BJP-fielded candidate.

Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, senior leaders Jual Oram, Sunil Bansal, Baijayant Panda, and Vijaypal Singh Tomar will spearhead a high-profile campaign in the constituency.

“Being inspired by BJP ideology, PM Narendra Modi Ji and Odisha people’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s leadership, and being inspired by development made by the party, I joined the party,” Jay Dholakia stated to OTV when contacted.

“The vision of Bikashita Odisha and Viksit Bharat, which they (the BJP leadership) have and the dream of Nuapada’s development and the principle of social service that my late father, MLA of this region, and former minister Raju Bhai Dholakia (aka Rajendra Dholakia) had espoused, would keep motivating me in the days ahead,” the BJP candidate said.

“For some reason, I have postponed the filing of my nomination to October 18. Keeping in mind the inclusive development of Nuapada involving all communities and all households, I will file my nomination papers on coming Saturday,” Jay Dholakia added.
