A few days after the ragging incident in Berhampur ’s Binayak Acharya College, another such incident has been reported from Khalikote Junior College where a girl student was allegedly subjected to ragging and tortured within the institute’s premises by her seniors.

As per the allegations, the Plus II first-year girl student of the Khalikote Junior College was mentally harassed by her seniors. A few boys from the senior batch followed her to the classroom and ragged her. 

Though the girl didn’t mention any particular name, she has filed a written complaint with the college administration.

Meanwhile, the college administration has assured to form a standing committee to investigate the matter. After the truth is uncovered, stringent action will be taken against the accused, assured Radhanath Nayak, principal of the college.

“A girl has filed a written complaint in which she has mentioned that some boys from her senior batch have been disturbing her and intruding into the classroom during ongoing classes,” informed Nayak.

“We received the written complaint today and I have instructed the head of the 9-member standing committee to look into the matter,” he added.

Further, he said, “We have written undertakings from every student that they won’t get involved in any such incidents of ragging. Once we receive any complaints of ragging, action will be taken as recommended by the standing committee.”  

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier a verbal complaint was filed regarding another ragging incident in the college. As many as 10 students involved in the incident were suspended from the college for 10 days.
