According to sources, the car suddenly caught fire and was soon engulfed in flames. Sensing danger, the driver immediately stopped the vehicle, and all five passengers rushed out and ran to safety. Preliminary suspicion points towards a possible CNG leakage or a cylinder malfunction as the cause of the fire, though an official confirmation is awaited.

The vehicle was carrying tourists from Puri who were on their way to visit Chilika. Fire services personnel were informed, and the blaze was eventually brought under control by the team. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident, though the car was completely destroyed in the inferno.

Police have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of fire. However, no comments were received from the local police in this regard.

Worth mentioning, earlier in another incident, panic had gripped locals on Tankapani Road in the capital city of Bhubaneswar on November 7 evening after a Thar car parked near Sai Temple suddenly caught fire. The luxury SUV, which was reportedly parked on the roadside, went up in flames within moments, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air.

Fortunately, no one had been injured in the incident. However, the Thar was severely damaged, with the interior and front portions completely gutted. The cause of the fire was then suspected to be due to a possible short circuit.
