Massive 10-foot python rescued in Sambalpur, released into forest

In a startling incident, a huge python was rescued from Baraipali area of Sambalpur on Thursday. The snake was spotted by the local residents, triggering panic in the locality.

According to sources, the reptile is more than 10 feet long.

Upon receiving information, members of the Snake Helpline promptly reached the spot and safely rescued the python. After the successful rescue operation, the snake was relocated and released into the nearby Kandarapata forest to ensure public safety as well as the conservation of wildlife.

Forest and wildlife activists have appreciated the timely action of the Snake Helpline team and urged people to immediately inform authorities in such situations instead of attempting to handle wild animals on their own.

Earlier, some days back, an 11-foot-long king cobra was rescued from the premises of a prominent Shiva temple in Ganjam district, triggering panic among locals and passersby.

The incident took place at the Gupteswar Temple located at Choudhury Tikarapada area under Digapahandi block.

Upon being informed, the Snake Helpline team reached the spot and carried out a careful rescue operation and managed to safely bring the king cobra out of the temple into a nearby paddy field, where it was successfully brought under control.
