KIIT student death: Mother alleges threat & intimidation from girlfriend’s family, demands justice

In a new twist to the death case of KIIT student Rahul Yadav, his mother has alleged that a classmate, with whom Rahul was reportedly in a relationship, is responsible for his death.

Rahul's mother also claimed that he was frequently threatened and intimidated by the girl’s family members.

According to Rahul’s mother, he had been under severe mental stress for the past few days. She said she had even requested the hostel authorities to keep an eye on her son, but they allegedly did not take her concerns seriously. She further alleged that this negligence cost her son his life.

Rahul’s mother has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and immediate justice.

"Her father had called my son thrice and threatened. He had also used abusive language. I have the recording. He had used abusive language and called my son to commit suicide today instead of being killed tomorrow. He was regularly threatening my son. The girl had an affair with three more boys earlier. He has just come to the university for two to three months. The girl was regularly torturing him and calling him to come to Raipur. She has taken him to Raipur seven times. Now, the girl is pursuing her studies in Pune. The father of the girl had threatened him (my son) to lodge an FIR against him. As a result, he committed suicide. I want justice for my son. Those four people should be arrested," said deceased Rahul's mother.

"The girl's father had threatened. Subsequently, he (Rahul) committed suicide. He had a love affair with Dipanshi Sharma for the last year. We were aware of it. The girl's mother was also aware of it. However, her father was not aware of it. I had a conversation with her mother yesterday around 8.30-9 pm. She told nothing about this," said deceased Rahul's grandfather.
