A family from Jajpur offered ‘Danda Pranam’ at the Jagannath Temple in Puri on Sunday after their ailing child showed signs of recovery. According to reports, Gayatri Behera’s young son had been suffering repeatedly from pneumonia and was undergoing treatment at AIIMS

Worried about his deteriorating health, Gayatri and her husband had earlier sought divine intervention at the feet of Lord Jagannath.

With the child’s condition now slightly improving, Gayatri fulfilled her vow today by performing ‘Danda Pranam’ from Gundicha Temple to Srimandir. The family later had darshan of Mahaprabhu and prayed for the child’s long and healthy life.

Journey of Faith

On Sunday, after noticing a slight improvement in their child’s health, Gayatri performed Danda pranam from the Gundicha Temple to the Srimandir before having the darshan of Mahaprabhu. The family expressed their faith and prayed for their son’s long life and complete recovery.

Madhusudan Singhari, a sevayat, said, “Lord Jagannath always keeps his arms open for all devotees who come to him and share their difficulties. He listens to those who surrender themselves with full devotion.”

Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the Central Sanskrit University, said, “Anyone who visits Lord Jagannath in Puri and submits themselves with faith and devotion is heard by him.”

Another Similar Incident

In another notable incident, a man from Rajasthan brought his comatose son to the Srimandir on November 8. The child reportedly showed physical improvement and began moving his limbs.

Encouraged by the recovery, Prakash Bhoi returned to the Puri Jagannath Temple with his son Nikhil, hopeful of his complete recovery.
