Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Tarai’s vehicle meets with accident near Hajipur square

A major mishap was narrowly averted on Sunday near Hajipur Square on the Machhagaon Road when the vehicle of Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Tarai was struck from behind by another car. The incident occurred while the MP’s convoy was en route to Jagatsinghpur.

According to sources, a speeding car rammed into the rear of the MP’s vehicle, causing a sudden jolt and triggering brief panic among the occupants. The MP escaped unhurt, and no major injuries were reported.

After the collision, the vehicle responsible allegedly attempted to flee, but local residents intervened and managed to stop it. The incident created commotion along the busy stretch, with bystanders gathering at the spot.

Upon receiving information, Biridi police arrived at the spot and took control of the situation. The car involved in the accident has been seized and taken to Biridi police station for further investigation. Police are examining whether negligence or overspeeding led to the incident, and statements are being recorded.

“A speeding vehicle hit my car from behind. Reckless driving is the main reason behind the accident. Those who are driving recklessly are posing a threat to themselves and others. I have also requested the SP not to detain the driver involved in the accident for long and release him,” the MP said.
