The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City Commissionerate Police held a personnel briefing on Thursday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, a day before the offline ticket sales begin. With counters outside the stadium opening for the general public at 9 am, police have introduced a fresh crowd-management layout.

Following the briefing, officials informed that iron barricades in a serpentine design have been deployed around the counter along with a set of operational rules intended to prevent overnight queuing, curb black-marketing and ensure orderly sales.

The stadium briefing also finalised the ticket distribution plan and public safety arrangements. The new measures apply to ticket counters located outside the stadium and at designated sale points.

They are being implemented for the first time for a Barabati T20 sale to streamline long queues and reduce the risk of overcrowding, which grabbed headlines during the India vs England clash at the iconic stadium earlier this year.

Sales Timing, Queue Rules And Venue Flow

Organisers said counters for general spectators will begin selling tickets at 9 am tomorrow. While spectators may start forming queues from 6 am on the day of the sale, authorities have explicitly prohibited people from camping or forming queues the night before.

Entry and exit routes near the Cricket Academy have been separated to maintain unidirectional flow and avoid bottlenecks during the sale period.

Anti-Scalping Steps And Plain-Clothes Deployment

To deter scalpers and illegal resale, the police plan plain-clothes deployments around the counters and high-traffic approach roads.

The entire ticketing area will be monitored through CCTV to ensure transparency, assist rapid intervention and provide evidence if offences occur. Officials said enforcement teams will act promptly on any intelligence of black-marketing or forcible crowding, informed the Commissionerate Police.

The India vs South Africa T20 is scheduled to be played at Barabati Stadium on December 9. The Commissionerate Police advised the public to use only official counters and online channels to avoid falling victim to scams.
