Following the heist, a formal complaint was lodged by the victim’s family at Nayapalli Police Station. Police have begun an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify and trace the culprit.

The incident has created panic among local residents and raised concerns over public safety in the city, particularly in the early-morning hours.

“I had stepped outside at around 4.30 AM. After plucking flowers, I returned to my house and went to the toilet. Later, I came out again and cleaned the house premises. I was about to enter the house when a miscreant came from the backside of my house and appeared before me. He immediately put a firearm to my head,” the elderly woman stated.

“He asked me to give him my gold ornaments. At that time, I was wearing a gold earring, and the other ornaments were imitations. Out of fear, I gave him my earring. Then he insisted on bangles on my hand. When I told him those were imitations, he shouted at me and snatched the bangles. I was trembling in panic,” the elderly woman expressed.

“When I told him that I was feeling suffocated and uneasy, the miscreant tried to ease me and fled from the spot soon after committing the crime,” the victim added.
However, no comments were received from the local police in this regard.
