With a deep depression forming over the Bay of Bengal on Sunday, the Odisha government has gone on high alert amid fears of a possible cyclone.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is personally monitoring the situation, while Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra stated that all officials have been instructed to remain vigilant.
According to sources, waterlogging-prone areas are under close watch, and steps have been taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply through generators. The administration has also made arrangements to provide cooked food and drinking water to people likely to be affected.
