Cyclone ‘Montha’ Alert: Leave of government employees cancelled in 2 Odisha districts

In view of the probable cyclone ‘Montha’ approaching the Odisha coast, the district administrations in Balasore and Ganjam have cancelled all leave for government employees to ensure smooth management and quick response during the emergency.

The orders have been issued by the respective District Collectors, emphasizing that all personnel must report for duty immediately, including those who were previously on leave.

In Balasore, the District Collector stated that the cancellation of leave is a precautionary measure to keep the situation under control.

Officials have also been instructed not to leave their headquarters without prior permission, ensuring that key officers remain available for coordination and rapid decision-making in case of severe weather conditions.

Similarly, in Ganjam district, leave for approximately 25 to 30 employees has been revoked. The administration has clearly directed that no official should leave their office or headquarters during this period, highlighting the importance of readiness amid cyclone threats.

Citizens are advised to stay updated with official alerts and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
