Law and Order Additional Director General (ADG) Sanjay Kumar on Monday issued a stern warning to those involved in the recent violence in Cuttack, asserting that the police has identified the miscreants and will soon arrest them for disturbing peace in the city.
The ADG informed that extensive security measures have been put in place to maintain law and order. Around 50 to 60 platoons of police forces have been deployed across sensitive areas, along with six companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to ensure stability and prevent any untoward incidents.
Kumar further stated that the curfew remains in force, and police are maintaining close vigil across all zones of the city. However, essential services will remain open, and there are no restrictions on individual movement for emergency or routine needs.
He also clarified that unlawful gatherings have been strictly prohibited, while all government offices will function as usual. The senior officer appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and refrain from spreading rumours or engaging in any activity that could disrupt peace and order.
“Cuttack is a city of brotherhood. There is normalcy now. The troublemakers have been identified. Around 50-60 platoons of police force and six companies of CAPF have been deployed,” Kumar informed.
“The curfew will remain in force and no criminal activities will be tolerated. The investigations have already began and necessary action will be taken. I urge people not to believe the rumours. All the emergency services including officers and hospital are open,” he added.
