Amid the recent unrest in Cuttack, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Monday appealed to residents to maintain peace and order in the city. He said that the situation, which had caused concern, is gradually returning to normal, and the police administration has taken all necessary measures to restore peace and stability.
The Minister urged citizens not to let the reputation of Cuttack be tarnished and requested everyone to uphold a chain of peace in the city.
“Cuttack is limping back to normalcy. Police have taken necessary measures, and the CM also urged everyone to maintain peace. I, on behalf of our government, request everyone not to tarnish the image of the city by maintaining peace.”
In a similar call, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous also appealed to the public to maintain calm and cooperate with the authorities to ensure that normalcy is restored as quickly as possible.
“I appeal to everyone to maintain peace. I condemn the unfortunate incidents that have occurred. It takes a long time to fix things, but it takes just a moment to destroy. I demand strong and exemplary action against those who are involved,” Firdous appealed.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, and residents have been urged to avoid any activity that could disrupt law and order in the city.

Notably, a 36-hour curfew, which was imposed at 10 pm on Sunday, remains in force in Cuttack, while internet services remain suspended till 7 pm tonight.
