Bhubaneswar: As many as 120 persons recuperated from COVID-19 in Odisha, taking the total recoveries to 2474 on Friday. A highest of 30 persons recovered from district, followed by 19 from Khurda and 14 from Balasore district.

Earlier, 112 more cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported in the last 24 hours in Odisha, taking the State’s tally to 3498 on Friday.

Of the fresh 112 Covid-19 cases, 107 were detected from quarantine centres and five are local contacts, added State I & PR department.

Apart from 112 new Covid-19 positive cases, a 55-year-old male of Ganjam, who was undergoing treatment in a hospital, died taking the death toll to 10 in the State. The deceased was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Odisha government yesterday had urged people to exercise caution while celebrating the Raja festival owing to spike in COVID-19 cases. As per official sources, the Covid-19 positive cases which stood at 1517 on May 26 has now doubled and reached 3498 by June 12.
