A terrifying road accident was reported from Kandhamal district on Saturday afternoon when a car and a Bullet motorcycle collided head-on near Dungi under the Tikabali police station limits. The impact was so severe that both vehicles burst into flames at the spot, sending shockwaves through the area.

The bike rider and his brother, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries in the crash. They were rescued from the scene and first taken to Tikabali medical centre. As their condition was critical, both were later shifted to Phulbani Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. The car driver, however, narrowly escaped without major injuries.

According to information, the car was travelling from Kalingia towards Phulbani when it collided with the Bullet coming from the opposite direction.

Firefighters Rush to the Spot

Upon receiving information about the accident, the Tikabali fire services rushed to the site. Firefighters rescued the injured victims and brought the raging flames engulfing the car and motorcycle under control.

Victims Identified

According to information, the injured brothers are residents of Bedasuga village under Bapalamendi panchayat in Chakapada block of Tikkabali police station area. They have been identified as Ranglal Nayak and Charan Nayak.

Investigation Underway

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision, as the incident once again highlights the dangers of high-speed travel on narrow roads in the region.
