Cuttack: At least 10 Odia migrant were injured when the bus ferrying them from Tamil Nadu met with an accident near Tangi area in Cuttack district.

All the injured passengers have been admitted to Cuttack SCB and the rescue operation is still underway, said sources.

As per reports, the accident took place when the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a truck parked on the roadside. The bus was reportedly en-route to Bhadrak district when the mishap occurred.

It is the fifth such road mishap when a bus ferrying migrants from other states met with an accident while en-route to Odisha. On May 5, a bus carrying around 40 Odia migrants met with an accident killing one person and leaving several others injured.

The bus was en-route to Banki in Khurda from Hyderabad when the mishap occurred on NH-16 near Kuhudi in the district. The driver of the bus reportedly lost control over the vehicle and dashed into a truck before veering off the road.

On May 2, a bus carrying migrants from Surat met with an accident near Andharkote at Kalinga Ghat on Kandhamal-Ganjam border of the State. At least two persons were killed in the mishap.

At least three Prabasi Odias were injured in another bus accident in Kandhamal. The bus was en-route to Odisha from Surat. Similarly, five persons were injured when a bus ferrying migrants from Surat to Ganjam overturned near Karanja on Nagpur-Amravati National Highway (NH) in Maharashtra.
