Broad daylight armed robbery at hills in Cuttack raises safety concerns

In a shocking incident, miscreants carried out an armed robbery in broad daylight at the Naraj–Bidhadharpur hills on the outskirts of Cuttack on Saturday. The incident has raised serious concerns over public safety in the area.

According to reports, two youths from the Chandni Chowk area in Cuttack had gone to the Naraj–Bidhyadharpur hills for photography. While they were taking photographs atop the hill, two unidentified miscreants arrived at the spot on a motorcycle. The accused allegedly brandished a firearm, threatened the youths, and forcibly snatched away their camera before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, the victims lodged a complaint at the Godisahi police outpost. Police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.

Locals have expressed concern as such incidents are reportedly occurring repeatedly in the hill area. Despite the frequent occurrences of robbery and criminal activities, miscreants seem to be operating fearlessly, openly challenging the police administration.

The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for enhanced security and regular patrolling in the Naraj–Bidyadharpur hill region to ensure the safety of visitors and local residents alike.
