Keonjhar’s Anandpur Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Abhimanyu Sethi on Friday said he was unaware of any 'betrayal' committed by Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud, who was suspended from the party a day earlier.
Sethi stated that Mahakud regularly attended party meetings, missing only one or two, and actively cooperated in party work. He added that Mahakud had also praised the work of the Chief Minister and the BJP when he felt good work was being done, saying appreciation should be given wherever it is due.
However, the Anandpur MLA reiterated that he does not know the reason behind Mahakud’s suspension.
The day before, Mahakud was suspended from the BJD for alleged anti-party activities. The action was taken by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

Sethi’s remarks, coming from within the Keonjhar district itself, have once again raised several questions over the suspension and the grounds on which it was imposed.
"Mahakud had missed one or two party meetings earlier. However, he was present at the party’s last MLA meeting. The party supremo may have assessed something from his activities, of which I am not aware. Mahakud attends party meetings regularly and cooperates with us. I do not know on what grounds he was suspended. We have also praised the Chief Minister on developmental issues in various meetings. Mahakud may have been suspended on some other grounds," said Anandapur MLA Abhimanyu Sethi.
