When and How the Divine Forms Appear
Throughout the year, Goddess Bhadrakali is worshipped in her serene form. However, during Kali Puja, she is believed to reveal her fierce and powerful avatar for just one day as Mahakali, the destroyer of evil.
Over seven days, the Goddess appears in seven divine manifestations, Vedamata, Mahakali, Raj Rajeshwari, Singhabahini, Jagaddhatri, Mahasaraswati, and finally Mahalaxmi, each representing a unique aspect of feminine divinity and cosmic power.
Devotees and Security Arrangements
Thousands of devotees are thronging the temple every day, with many travelling from distant parts of Odisha and neighbouring states. The sight of devotees queuing up from dawn reflects the immense faith the people hold in Maa Bhadrakali.
Given the expected massive turnout, the police administration has enforced strict security measures to ensure smooth conduct of rituals and the safety of pilgrims. With the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and the glow of countless lamps, Bhadrak stands illuminated in divine fervour and festive spirit.
