According to sources, the incident took place at Majhi Sahi village under Narendrapur panchayat. The victim, identified as Deeptikant Majhi, son of Sarat Majhi, had accompanied his father to the police station after being accused of stealing a mobile phone. The victim’s family claimed that after the assault, police officials warned the boy not to disclose the incident to anyone. Shockingly, they allegedly handed him Rs 200 to buy biryani in an apparent attempt to pacify or silence him. The injured minor was later admitted to a hospital in Bhadrak, where he is undergoing treatment.

The boy’s family has demanded strict action and justice, condemning what they described as inhuman treatment of a child. Meanwhile, the Officer-in-Charge of Pirahat Police Station has refuted the allegations, calling them ‘baseless and fabricated’.

The officer maintained that if the family has any evidence, they should formally present it for investigation.
