3-year-old dies after eating fish curry in Bhadrak, three others critical

In a shocking incident, a three-year-old boy lost his life after consuming fish curry while three others have been left battling for their lives. The tragic case was reported from Bhadrak's Barandua village under Basudevpur block on Thursday.

According to sources, the family of Surendra Bandh had prepared marine fish for dinner on Wednesday. Later, around 11 pm, the child along with other family members developed repeated bouts of vomiting. Their condition worsened overnight, and on Thursday morning, they were rushed to the Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition.


Unfortunately, doctors declared the child dead on arrival. The other affected members include the victim's twin brother, sister, and mother, who are currently undergoing treatment at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

Medical authorities suspect the family may have suffered food poisoning, possibly due to the fish consumed. However, further examination will be conducted to confirm the cause.

The sudden death of the child and the critical condition of his family members has cast a pall of gloom over Barandua village. Locals have expressed shock and grief at the unfortunate incident.
