A disturbing incident has surfaced from Daspalla locality, where two Class VII students were allegedly found unconscious at a school in Nayagarh district on Thursday after consuming alcohol, sources said on Thursday.

According to the sources, the two students had allegedly arrived at school in an inebriated condition and later lost consciousness on the premises. The school authorities informed the parents and sent the students back home.
The headmaster stated that the students had consumed alcohol before coming to school. However, the mother of one of the students has alleged that her son consumed alcohol on the school campus.
The incident has triggered concern among the parents and locals, raising serious questions about student safety and supervision.
“Two Class VII students had come to the school after consuming liquor at home. When their condition appeared somewhat abnormal, the children were detained and their parents were informed,” the school headmaster, Subas Chandra Sahoo, said.
“Parents of the students are expected to arrive at the school for clarification, if necessary, we will also inform the Department higher-ups for disciplinary action on the wrongdoers,” headmaster Sahoo expressed.
“My son came to the school and drank alcohol along with others after being instigated by them. They sat together, and he drank with a student from Mahaveer Sahi. My son came from home just now. I have seen everything; I hadn't given any money to him. My child is not like that. Ask anyone in our neighbourhood; no one will say that this boy drinks alcohol,” the mother of one of the students stated.
“He (the woman’s son) told me that this boy (the other student) gave him some alcohol. He had brought it. He drank and vomited on my son. He forced my son; he had brought local Mahula liquor (a typical country-made drink produced from Mahua flowers and called as Mahuli in local parlance) and gave it to my son. My son wasn’t drinking like that, but since the other student gave it to him, my son drank,” the woman added.
