Youth stabbed to death in Sambalpur; locals gherao police station

Sambalpur: A youth was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Budharaja area of Sambalpur yesterday following which locals gheraoed Ainthapali police station today demanding handing over of all the detained accused.

The deceased identified as Bishal Khadia of Karamtola  village, had received grievous injuries on his neck and his body in the attack following which he was rushed to Burla medical in a critical condition where doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information police had rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. Subsequently, three persons were detained in connection with the incident.

According to a police official, Khadia was attacked over past rivalry, however, exact reason behind the death can only be ascertained after a detailed probe.

“All the accused identified from the CCTV footage will be arrested. As of now, 3 persons have been arrested,” Sanjeev Arora, SP, Sambalpur said.
