Bhubaneswar: A woman employee of the Bank of India (BOI), Gandamunda branch under Khandagiri police limits was shot at by a security guard of the bank today.
The bank official identified as Aditi Singh sustained bullet injuries on her leg and was admitted to a private hospital here for treatment. Receiving information, police detained Karunakar Sahu, the security guard of the bank and are interrogating him. The cops also seized a rifle and few rounds of live bullets from his possession.
However, it is yet to be ascertained whether the firing was accidental or intentional.
"The condition of the woman is out of danger now. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident," said DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
When asked, the security guard said the firing was accidental.
