Two persons including a trader travelling in the vehicle were however safely rescued from the trapped auto.

As per sources, heavy rainfall under the influence of low pressure on Bay of Bengal over the past few days caused a steady rise in water level in Brahmani river flowing along the dictrict.

Today morning, a bridge on Kisinda jhor (Tributary)  of the river situated near Kisinda area under Chhendipada block of the district caved in suddenly under the impact of heavy flow of water making people scamper to safety.

A crane was also roped in to pull out the auto-rickshaw from the collapsed site. Following the incident, road communication has come to a standstill in the area.
