Bhubaneswar: The Koraput district administration has directed Koraput`s Van Surakshya Samiti (VSS) to take the additional charge of maintaining school administration and mid-day meal. Apart from the responsibility of forest protection, VSS will be dealing with these new responsibilities.
Since last couple of days, there have been complaints about the lack of school administration and negligence in the distribution of baby food and mid-day meals in anganwadis and schools.
The district administration has decided to bring in some machinery which can efficiently address to the grave issues of the harassment of girl students, absence of teachers in schools and the alleged misappropriation of rice and pulses allotted under midday meal scheme.
However, before the Samiti completely takes charge of the new responsibilities, its officials will undergo the necessary training.
