Bhubaneswar: CPI national secretary, D. Raja today termed BJD's decision to not participate in the no-confidence motion debate in Lok Sbha as unfortunate.
"The BJD should have participated in the debate over the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha yesterday. It is unfortunate that the regional political party chose to keep away from discussions," he stated.
The BJD could have raised issues of Mahanadi and Polavaram project and raised other issues pertaining to the interests of the State, but it failed to do so, Raja added.
Raja also said that his party will decide on forging an alliance with like-minded parties in September for ensuing general polls.
“The party will take a decision at an appropriate time. In fact, preliminary discussions have begun at the leadership level,” Raja told media persons.
From August 1-14, the party will launch a campaign and leaders will meet party activists to discuss various issues, he added.
“The CPI will launch a campaign from August 1 to 14 by holding seminars and meetings to highlight the need to save the constitution and the country. Besides, we will organise meetings at the constituency-level to discuss strategies ahead of the general elections,” Raja stated.
