Train rams into car, 3 killed

Nuapada: In a tragic incident, three persons were killed when a passenger train hit a car near Kalyanpur in the district at around 7:45 am today.

According to reports, the incident occurred between Nuapada and Khariar station, when Bhawanipatna-Raipur passenger train hit the Indica car while it was crossing the track at a unmanned level crossing.

The collision was so severe that the train dragged the ill-fated vehicle for about a kilometre before breaking it into pieces, eyewitnesses said.

All the passengers of the car belonging to nearby Guduma village died on the spot, they added.
