Bhubaneswar: The office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Friday issued thunderstorm with lightning alert for several districts of Odisha.

As per the latest advisory, light thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in 11 districts of the State.

The warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Angul, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Sambalpur within next three hours.

“People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike,” read a release by SRC.

Apart from this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday also predicted rain and thunderstorm activity which will continue in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.

A cyclonic circulation lies over north Madhya Maharashtra at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation over southeast Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
