Bhubaneswar: The people in several parts of Odisha have got marginal respite from scorching heat following light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activity in the past 24 hours.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that rain and thunderstorm activity will continue in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.

At present, a cyclonic circulation lies over north Madhya Maharashtra at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation over southeast Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

As per the latest weather bulletin of IMD, both maximum temperature (Day temperature) and minimum temperature (Night temperature) likely to fall slightly by around 2 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 48 hours and it will again rise thereafter by 2-3 degrees.

Here is the complete weather outlook for next two days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 12.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.03.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowervery likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack and Kendrapara.

Yellow Warning(To be updated)

Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Day 2 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 13.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.03.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri and Ganjam.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal.
